A Paper Town

OmniMade AB was started in Lund to pursue an idea for the corrugated paper board market. Lund, located 20km northeast of Malmö, Sweden, and its University have a long relationship with packaging solutions as a whole and paper packages in particular. Some would even say there is competition in this town.

The founders have all worked or studied in Lund with 100 years between us of experience in the field of paper processing and packaging solutions.

Concept

A dry distributed manufacturing process

Usually, corrugated paper boards are manufactured "semi locally" at processing plants. Any shipment going from that processing plant, with corrugated paper board, ships air. A lot of air. About 60% utilization loss of a standard 18-wheeler's capacity to be exact. If the material is to be further refined at a second location, the shipment's low efficiency further increases the carbon footprint of the end product. Our calculations have shown that 230 000 metric tonnes of CO2 equivalents can be reduced in Sweden alone.

OmniMade will ship rolls of paper directly to the client in need of corrugated paper packaging and boxes.

OmniMade's manufacturing unit produces the corrugated paper board on-site and on-demand. Store the material in paper rolls instead of blanks and increase floor space utilization with up to 66% of your storage area.

Performance & Flexibility

You set the scope

Since OmniMade intends to create your packaging solution on-site we can also offer unique flexibility in regard of digital printing of individual boxes and shipping information directly on the packaging itself.

Our material's inner structure has a scaffold framework instead of a sinus wave form. Initial tests have shown a significantly higher crush test resistance compared to competitors with similar wall thicknesses. This can also result in a down gauge of material, further decreasing the environmental impact.
